Los ojos desiertos nace de la conmoción por los sucesos trágicos que se vivieron en Chile y Colombia en los últimos años y que ha dejado a cientos de personas con traumas oculares debido a los perdigones lanzados por la policía durante las manifestaciones. No es sólo en Chile, no es sólo en Colombia. También sucede en Palestina, en Cataluña, en Francia, en Hong Kong, en Colombia, en Brasil, en Cachemira ¿Dónde más? ¿Desde cuándo? Arrancar los ojos es una puesta en escena de grandes
pantallas con material audiovisual de archivo, cuerpos en tensión ensayando formas de resistencia, imágenes de cráteres en el sur de Argentina que se asemejan a los ojos de la Tierra, consignas cantadas en manifestaciones populares de distintas regiones del mundo, cronologías, textos científicos y periodísticos, fragmentos de textos míticos relacionados con la acción de quitar los ojos. La obra incluye una canción de La Mujer Cabra, compuesta para la exposición a partir de la investigación realizada por la artista.
Los ojos desiertos es sobre todo una obra sobre la resistencia.

The desert eyes is born from the shock of the tragic events that have taken place in Chile and Colombia from October 2019. A social and political crisis that
has left more than 700 people with eye injuries due to pellets shot by the police during the protests. Some of the victims have lost one or both eyes. The police aim directly for the heads. It is not only in Chile. It is not only in Colombia. It is also in Palestine, France, Hong Kong, Brazil, Kashmir. Tear out the eyes is built from various
sources: archive images, testimonies of victims of mutilation, performance, texts collected from slogans chanted in popular demonstrations in different regions of the world, military and scientific texts. The movements of the bodies, the gazes interpelle. Laser pointers cross the air, they are resistance actions. Everything is extinguished. But the eyes insist, they recover the spaces, the bodies, the eyes return, they are restituted. Is it possible to restore the gaze? Is it possible for the eyes to take their place again? Is it possible for them to revolt and do justice?
The desert eyes is also a work about resistance.
